When you are using essential oils, it is very important to keep in mind that they are extremely concentrated and a little goes a long way. You have to check and see if the oil needs to be diluted before applying to skin. Using too much can cause skin rash or irritation.
I had a bad reaction once by using too much undiluted tea tree oil for acne. I actually ended up at urgent care because it was so bad and not going away on it's own. I've never had anything itch as bad as this did. Steroids cleared it up.
I now use a body was with tea tree oil for acne and only apply a tiny amount of oil to cold sores (with no issues).
That's a good article. We use essential oils but don't overuse them, as in the article.
It's good to read that doctors and hospitals are using them as well.
But like anything you put in your body, oils, meds, food, alcohol, etc, if you have a bad reaction, you need to stop. Hard to believe that someone who gets a rash would continue irritating the skin.
I have heard some of the oil reps talk about how much they use every day, how they are diffusing oils constantly at home and work. Just like meds, I believe it's safer to use oils sparingly so they are more effective when you need them. And they do work on many things.
After reading that article I wouldn't consider using essential oils for anything. The few potential positives are greatly outweighed by the dangers, contrary to what the millions of people peddling them claim.
For those who don't know about working with Essential Oils, the OP posted the worst photos..I've got a load of EO's that I use and my skin looks nothing like the photo. Unbelievable the fear instilled in so many who buy this negative stuff.
Have I missed which EO's caused those facial issues?
