My good friend who is forever looking out for me as well as herself and she deals with CFS/Malaise and knee issues now too. She sent me this today and I'm going to work with it...baking soda is NOT supposed to elevate blood pressure, it's the white processed table salt that is the culprit. I use Braggs ACV and Red Mill baking soda and have them both on hand.

Let us know how you do after a few months. The ad said it alkalizes the body, which sounds good.

More ways to use ACV for arthritic joints.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Arthritis | How to Cure Arthritis with ACV

Thinking back over my years of taking ACV, I didn't take it 3 times per day or even 2 times per day....that is going to change now.

ACV didn't do much for me. Lemon water may have helped a little. What worked for me was:

1) Epson, Baking Soda, Sea Water Salt baths to remove toxins.

2) Regular, early sleep to promote better and more complete digestion. No food after 7pm.

3) Very clean and nutrious diet full of organic vegetables, mixed whole grains and seeds, and regular water. Elimanate sugar, and only a small amount of difficult to digest proteins. Easy to digest foods is very important so avoid raw vegetables.

4) Lots of patience, relaxation and rest. Stress can be a fundamental cause. It takes time but it will go away.

Traditional Ayurveda explains the causes the best and provides the best advice.

After it is gone, meditation, simple wishing or Tai chi practice are helpful to promote circulation and better digestion. Easy yoga is also go. Stress and other emotional factors can be called primary cause.

All your suggestions are good BUT soaking in fluoridated/chlorinated bath water....can't do it...even if I could get down in my tub and get out soaking in these two chemicals, can't do it.

If I go to bed by 10PM or so and I sleep good all night, I wake up too early and have 24/7 to do my day which is a lot of relaxing. I know I feel better when I get to sleep earlier, I usually hit my pillow at 11PM or so.

That's fine. The problem fundamental problem is poor digestion and accumulated toxins. Stress inhibits digestion as does late eating and late sleeping. Stress also inhibits proper elimination. Eat well, digest well, plenty of rest and water should help eliminate the accumulated toxins in the body.

But it is not true. Your body carefully regulates your PH to sustainlife. It must stay in a narrow band. If you can manage to get it outside that safe area you will sicken, you can die.

How is blood PH maintained in the body?

Buffers in the Human Body. Blood contains large amounts of carbonic acid, a weak acid, and bicarbonate, a base. Together they help maintain the bloods pH at 7.4. If blood pH falls below 6.8 or rises above 7.8, one can become sick or die.

Aren't there any professionals on this Group? No RNs? Not even an LPN for some guidance?

Acidosis - Hormonal and Metabolic Disorders - Merck Manuals Consumer Version

or from Wikipedia: "Acidosis is an increased acidity in the blood and other body tissue (i.e. an increased hydrogen ion concentration). If not further qualified, it usually refers to acidity of the blood plasma."

I think the idea of alkaline in Alternative Medicine differs from that in mainstream medicine--am not sure about that but it could be a topic for another thread. Let's not start an argument or discussion of it in THIS thread. This thread is about osteoarthritis. Please stay on topic.
