I'd like to open a (very) small business in south america. I'm not local, so it should be a country where foreigners can open a small business easily.
My budget is only 2000$. I know this is very low, but I still hope I can open a business with this amount of money. The business can be opened with a local partner, or alone.
I've been thinking about a few options. I'd appreciate your opinions :
1. 1-2 representatives call center.
2. A food stand - hot dogs, popcorn, etc.
3. Flower store.
4. Lectures service - Hire a small place twice a week, and have an interesting lecture (sell tickets to this lecture).
Can you read Spanish? Go to the immigration websites of the countries you are interested in and check their business visa requirements. You will need such a visa to engage in your own economic activity, you can't just fly in as a tourist and open up a food stall on the street, legally (that's really about all you van get for $2000, except maybe in Bolivia)
I don't want to go there - just to open there a business, while still living in another country. Is that a problem ? What I want to do is to hire a local to be in charge of the place and operate it.
One more question : Does anybody know how much it costs to hire a small office in chile, in an area that is suitable for call center business (I guess there are many options, I only need an estimation, price range).
