Can places like Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, and some Bahamian islands (and to some extent the Cayman Islands) all be thought of as a British-style Hamptons gone tropical or subtropical?

For that matter, can a place like St. Barthelemy be thought of as another tropical Hamptons, albeit non-British? (In this case, it would be more appropriate to think of it as a tropical Cannes or St. Tropez or whatever.)

Any one going to the BVI, Anguilla or the Bahamas expecting to find a little piece of Britain will be very upset. The vast majority of the people aren't British, and if any thing are way more linked to the USA.

Those islands are no more "British" than is the USA.

What I really mean is, can all the islands I enumerated be considered tropical or subtropical Hamptons?
