I'm right now living in Manila, Philippines but would like to try South America for a while. Maybe a year.

My budget is about $5-10,000 a month for rent and another $5-10k for living expenses. So I guess I could afford the nicer areas in whatever city I chose. The closer to $5k rent I could spend though, the better. I want to get as high standard as possible for as little money as possible, but at the same time not lose too many comforts in the process.

What is important to me?

- Lots of prostitutes/escorts
- Good looking girls in general (Fortaleza is out because of this reason)
- High end shopping malls or boutiques, like Louis Vuitton, Gucci etc (this is not a must, but it is a plus)
- Good restaurants (I know Michelin is going through Brazil this year...I am looking for that kind of class)
- Great weather (lots of sun and not too humid)
- Acceptable level of safety (in Manila I go for hour-long walks in the middle of the night without any threat whatsoever...and I can wear a Rolex watch anywhere without the risk of getting robbed - I want to be able to do the same in Brazil)

At first I was looking at Rio de Janeiro. But it seems to me that there are no safe neighbourhoods there? For example, Manila has Fort Bonifacio which is a quite large area with higher standard and safety than most major European cities. Can you find something similar in Brazil?

Anyways, what are you recommendations?

I've been looking at Rio de Janeiro, Natal, Porto Alegre and Florianopolis. Out of these, which would fit me the best? I love the weather of Natal with its 3000 sunshine hours. But is it too rural and simple for my taste? And the murder rate there is about 3 times as high compared to Rio de Janeiro. I hear a lot of negatives about north-eastern Brazil.

That's a high income. You could protect yourself easily where you were to live. Protect meaning have a place to live with high security. As far as walking around for long walks in the middle of the night, I'm surprised you do that in Manila, but Brazil would have its issues with this.

Rio is probably your best, as it seems you have some pretty high end shopping needs and requirements.

Prostitutes/escorts, you'll find them everywhere in Brazil easily. I"m surprised someone with a high income would have this as a requirement, as it seems like you could buy this anywhere in the world, with that kind of income, and it wouldn't be a need.

Fortaleza. I haven't been to that Brazilian city, but I'm surprised you'd write it off based on the 'looks'. It's Brazilian, how bad can it be? Have you been there?

Thanks for the reply.

Do you know any particular neighborhoods in Rio that would be somewhat safe?

Regarding the prostitutes. I forgot to say, I want high class escorts but not necessarily expensive. I've seen in Rio, SP and Salvador the supply is great and the prices are reasonable. In places like Hong Kong an hour is going to run you $500. Then if you'd do that 3-4 times a week or more, the cost quickly adds up.

I checked Natal for prostitutes but most sites only offered a handful of girls, who were not up to par with the high class escorts of the major cities. But that's how it is anywhere I guess. Supply and demand.

Regarding Fortaleza I have never been there. Never been to South America at all actually. But I've seen it posted at a lot of places all over the internet that the Ceará-region is infamous all over Brazil for having incredibly ugly women.

Thanks again.

How or what would make Caera/Fortaleza women ugly? I've actually never been to place that had ugly women, and I've been to a lot of places. Can't imagine anywhere in Brazil having an entire large city like that. Particularly not in Brazil.

Safe RIO...yeah IPANEMA. The famous beach. They have security guards everywhere, and there is a lot of money. A lot of weathly Brazilans and foreigners live there, and so it seems the gov't protects the residents there well.

Man, with a income like that you would never need a prostitute here in Fortaleza.

All that you need is to drive a Land Rover Evoque and go to some of the "forró" parties.

With a new shining Land Rover Evoque in a forró party in Fortaleza you can easily get stunning girls after they have a few caipirinhas, and bring them to your apartment for a "little party"...

By the way, Fortaleza has many ugly girls, as any city in the world, but it also has LOTS (and I really mean LOTS) of incredibly beautiful girls, from ALL social classes (poor, middle class or rich).

You just need to choose the RIGHT forró parties...

Will I not get robbed or killed if I show up in a nice car to a Brazilian party though? Especially if I "steal" girls from the Brazilians?

According to statistics Fortaleza is one of if not the most dangerous city in Brazil, with the second highest murder rate in the country at 76,8 per 100,000 (right behind Maceió at 90). But you're saying it's safe?

That's cool, I will definitely look into Ipanema then.

What I've heard about Fortaleza women is that they are fat and husky and look like american football players. I realize this is of course an exaggeration. But Brazil is a big country. Go over to Chile or Bolivia and the women look pretty horrible.

I am still very much interested in Fortaleza though, if it in fact isn't as dangerous as the statistics shows. Maybe I should look into Salvador as well?

I say it depends on your taste in women really, do you like white blonde, white brunette, mulatas, indigenous looking, black?

Do you absolutely want to be close to the beach or is the interior fine too?

Are you white, black, asian, something else?

Do you speak Portuguese?

Anyway, with that kind of income you can afford some really high end places and you wouldn't need to hire prostitutes all the time. Unless you're absolutely hideous and a complete social retard you'd have plenty of women after you.

Yes I just like escorts from time to time as I'm very busy with work. But sometimes I will have time for regular "dates" as well. I like all types of women. I've been in the Philippines for a year now and I'm very tired of Asian women in general. So white brunettes, blondes, browns or blacks doesn't matter. As long as they're not Asians. For long term stay, it would be good if there is variety. Meaning, multiple races and hair colors.

I would prefer to live by the beach, yes. It would be nice to have the ability to get away from the hustle and bustle and "be one with nature" for a while, like swimming in the ocean.

I am White and speak not a word of Portuguese. I intend to learn a few basic phrases though.

You are obviously a troll.

You started this thread for trolling.

Fortaleza girls are so ugly, so ugly, so DAMN ugly, that one of them, Melissa Gurgel, won the latest edition of Miss Brazil, and ended among the top 15 most beautiful women in the world in the latest edition of Miss Universe.

But you are not welcome here, bro. Yeah, you will be murdered in the forró party, and I will be looking at it and laughing, so, it's better that you never put your feet in this town.

Hire a bodyguard while you spend your wealth on ****ing the destitute sisters of the Brazillian's countrymen.

There is a reason that historically, the people periodically rise up and cut off the rich people's heads.
