the celebration is el dia de los muertos Day of the Dead - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia , celebrated at the same time as AllSaints and Halloween (it is the same celebration, but under a different cultural tradition)

there are 3 different sets in this music video.

- for the desert set, I would say northern mexico
- for the rainforest set with waterfall, southern mexico, maybe somewhere close to guatemalan border?
- for the village set difficult to say, many small villages may look like that. Somewhere in central mexico maybe?

It looks like the desert was a completely separate place from the other scenery. That is Xilitla de Potosi, a surrealist park built by a British expat. It is located in San Luis Potosi. They are not ruins. I've been wanting to go there, that is on my list of places to visit!

It seems like they were trying to capture the Aztec's beliefs regarding death, as well as images of Day of the Dead celebrations.
