Not everything that you see on TV about the favelas is true. You can find safe houses to rent in Rio de Janeiro. And if you are really worried, you can find houses that have 24 hours security. Have a nice trip!

You'll be just as safe as staying Copacabana. Vidigal is one of the safest favelas in Rio.

I guess OP was worried some of the crime in the favela might spillover to where that hotel is? Or that maybe crooks from the favela target the hotel area?
