Well I definitely found out ..... some other post today.

Not sure how you see Chicago as SUBURBIA EVERYWHERE AND NO PEOPLE WALKING....
Another....

Why is this SOUND ADVICE FOR COLOMBIA? BUT NOT AMERICAN CITIES?

It seems being supposedly a NEW with a ID has another EASILY KNOW FROM POST WHO YOU ARE,,,,
another.. BY YOUR FLAVORFUL RESPECTFUL STYLE.........
Hehe, Irene is consistent with her trolling at least. That's why she's so easy to spot, regardless of whatever name she chooses.

Give it up girl! Find a good Columbian man and settle down. Slow down on the crack and ditch the internet for a while. You'll be so much happier!

Can't comment much on the other cities but that is definitely true, except for downtown which is pretty nice, Chicago looks bad and dangerous overall.

Been to all but Montreal and my favorite is Chicago. I also do like San Francisco but more the version of 15-20 years ago.

I voted for Chicago, as I really liked it there, especially going up to the 90-something-th floor of the John Hancock Center. Wow, what a view of the city from there!

I haven't been to any of the other cities mentioned.
For what it's worth, the poverty in Chicago is really segregated/concentrated. This causes it's own problems, and the racial and economic segration is one of the reasons why there is so much violence and desperation in parts of the city. However, from a pedestrian standpoint, there are very few areas that I would walk around in where I would feel really unsafe. A lot of the worst places in the city are not places I would find myself going to to go see a show, go to an interesting bar/restaurant, or visit a friend.

In SF, the "bad areas" and the "good areas" are often close together (sometimes within the same neighborhoods), and the city covers a much tinier geographical area, so if anything I feel much less safe walking through many neighborhoods in SF. I find there's more block to block variability, especially in neighborhoods that are close to transit (most of the quiet safe neighborhoods are more remote).

I haven't made a post on this thread for 2+ months and only commented once without any opinion. Your obsession with me is getting creepy now. And considering Toronto is tied for last on this thread, I'm not sure why you're cheering.

Montreal's got soul? What is that suppose to mean?

I thought Chicago would have been the most soulful of the cities listed

Disagree with this poster.... OVERALL BAD NO. Gentrification helped the cities OLDEST Neighborhoods. Just not the worst areas south in crime....... In time there is plenty there to infill again.
