And more Colombians in Venezuela, as most cerricolas and chusmera are Colombian. Maduro is Colombian.
If Venezuela ever recovers freedom, the first thing it must do is expel illegal Colombian and Cuban military and any personnel that are the real support of Maduro.

I don't think so. Venezuelans are even running away to Peru, which is quite a distance away. Fortunately most Peruvians have a positive image of Venezuela at this point
The destruction of Venezuela, sadly but true, might be a blessing for Latin America, Africa, and in a lesser way to Western Civilization.
The millions of people, all dreaming that Communism would improve their miserable lives, might just realize that it is more like a nightmare.
If only our media would cover the Venezuela crisis.
They spent more time on the O.J. Simpson parole hearing than on Venezuela in six months.

Far-right extremism hasn't exactly worked out well in Latin America either in case you haven't noticed. I think a Centrist, or maybe a slightly Right Wing government would work out the best in Latin America

I fully agree. They seem unable to choose what is the best way to suffer, cancer or heart attack.
How could so many countries blessed with good climate and plenty of natural resources offer so little to the population.
I'm talking of Colombian chusmera legalized by Chavez, around 10 million.
Only uneducated Venezuelans lap up this mythomania, unfortunately uneducated/brainwashed seems to be the status quo for Venezuelans nowadays.
It makes me laugh how every time Chavez or Maduro or the chavista press talk about the amount of Colombians in Venezuela they always add another 1/2 million each time. First it was 4 million, then 4.5 million, then 5 million, then 6 million and now it's up to 10 million. LOL. Even 5 million is more than all the Irish, Indians, Pakistanis and Jamaicans combined in the UK!?
Venezuelans are easily brainwashed mythomaniacs - they did vote for Chavez 4 times after all.
The description of this situation is throwing me off.
I know of someone from there that lives in Canada, that just went back to get a cosmetic surgery.
If it was that dangerous and lacking in terms of supply how was this person getting the surgery done safely? Are the problems more regional? Ex this part of the country is okay ... but these guys in this part are in deep trouble?

There is no hope for Venezuela. They aren't rioting for more market based solutions to their problems they're rioting because their free stuff dried up, rioting for MORE bolivarian socialism. They don't seem to realize that bolivarian socialism caused all the issues, sh*t would have hit the fan even with Chavez; he just happen to die right before the collapse happened. Chavez is still viewed as a hero to most people there. I'm not even sure market solutions would work anymore because anyone with capital to invest is going to be reluctant to invest there because of the fear that they would just elect another socialist dictator and their business would be confiscated/nationalized.

As usual the rich people are the ones who are suffering the least of the tragedy, I imagine if you are in the top 1% of the population live goes as usual. With the horrible exchange rate it wouldn't surprise me if indeed it would make sense to go there for surgery.

Part of it was being ripped off by the West European colonial powers, another part was the ineffective government leadership right after independence. Either way, it seems like finally many Latin American countries are climbing out of the nasty cycle of poverty. Chile, Colombia, and Peru are all having their golden eras right now
