How have groups like FARC, or ELN survive for such a long time?

They are trapped in the interior. They must be getting help from neighboring countries. Even ISIS gets some assistance from somewhere else.

Do they control territory in Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, or Brazil?

Yes, I know they sell drugs, kidnap, and what not, but how are they laundering their money or making purchases, and then getting delivery? They must be going through the neighboring countries then like Brazil.

A peace treaty has been signed with FARC as for today.

These groups tend to seek shelter in neighbouring countries. Back in time, one of FARC head commanders was shot down along the border in Ecuador which resulted in a diplomatic crisis between Colombia and Ecuador.

Venezuela and Ecuador are run by socialists who support FARC and ELN. Venezuela even more so since Maduro and his crew are all a bunch of drug smugglers and criminals.

The reason why FARC survived this long is a lot more complex, though.

They will be around as long as Americans love to snort coke and meddle in other peoples affairs.

But who is helping them smuggle, and receive the payments. The heyday of the Cartels was the 80s, and early 90s. They are gone now for the most part, and yet FARC, and ELN started in the 60s.

what do you mean "trapped in the interior"? they have plenty of very difficult terrain to hide, hundreds of thousands of square km.

drug trafficking was never gone anywhere in the World.

The big cartels might be gone but there is still plenty of local traffickers. Read the insight crime website posted earlier. Farc is now a political party and they were far from the only players in the drug game.

Unless they make their own munitions, and weapons, food, medicine, and other tools an army needs, I assume they are getting outside help.

But again they started in the 60s. Crack did not get big until 80s.

Definitely!

An interesting but little know fact is that most of the money in the drug trade is created and stays in the USA. Latin American is basically stuck with the crime and a trickle of all the wealth this illicit activity produces.
