Hello,

I've been considering living abroad in South or Central America for at least part of the year especially during retirement. The big difference form full-time abroad is that we'll still have regular access to our kids and other friends and family in the states. Plus we can pick the best time of year in both locations. Then we'll enjoy the benefits and experiences living in another culture.

There are a number of articles discussing some of the benefits as well including this: The Perks of Being a Part-Time Expat

I'm wondering if any expats on CD live in the EU or are considering it part of the time?

Derek

It's very common. Mexico is filled with them. It's just another alternative to the snowbird to Florida, but they go below the border instead.

Yes, I was reading that Mexico is actually the most common location for both Americans and Canadians. I've been looking at the Yucatan Peninsula and Puerto Vallarta among others recently. Merida in particular looks like a good potential location.

Pardon me Derek, but your post is a bit confusing. Are you looking for feedback from expats who live in South/Central America or those who live in the EU?
