I am a big fan of Anthony Bourdain and the Parts Unknown show.
His life, his work and his death has significantly touched me on a personal level.
In tribute to him and his life I wanted to create this thread to discuss his episodes that discussed places in the Americas.
What did you think of his coverage of your city and its foods, people and social issues?
I am going to start with his episode on Trinidad.
I can tell you every member of my family is a huge fan of the show and were excited to watch the episode on Trinidad. My poor dad was crushed when CNN delayed showing it on the day it first expected to be on to cover a major new event in the USA. He kept on looking for it on all the channel and was almost in tears when he finally excepted it was not going to be on that night lol.
I watched it several times and was very happy with the episode.
Being featured on Parts Unknown was a huge honour.
I thought is covered a lot about the country, it's history, it's cultural, political and social challenges and the food scene and will always be a beloved portrayal of Trinidad the good, bad and the ugly.
I was shocked when I found out about it. Another high profile suicide in less than a week.
He always came across as incredibly optimistic in most of his segments.
