According to the State Department, in 2017, 4 Americans were killed by homicide and 2 by suicide and 11 in accidents in the Dominican Republic. How's this any different than 2019?
They should have given the fat guy a horse instead of a burro. (0:40)
in any case, this youtube video is interesting because: (a) she relates the statements reported by authorities and the State Department; then (b) she expresses her personal opinion about it.
If you ignore (b) and focus on (a) then:
- first couple: photos of cliff with no guard rail, photos of smashed up car that plunged off cliff. Why wouldn't this be an accident?
- second couple: suspicious because both died. suicide? murder? accident (environmental contamination)? Unclear, could equally be any of these.
- third guy: tainted alcohol. whether deliberate or accidental is unclear. Should be noted that this is not an uncommon risk, not only in DR but throughout Latin America and other places in the world.
- fourth lady: tainted alcohol.
That's it for the 2019 deaths. Based just on these data points and just on this youtube video, I'm not seeing anything unusual except for the couple that died together in the hotel room.
One thing is certain, if the DR or anyplace is going to make tourism their main job and money producer it may be a good idea to adopt commonly acceptable values that their target customers will find tolerable, not to mention step up security for their guests.
Many so-called paradises have their share of evil dictators, poor working conditions, lawlessness, etc, etc. My main point was to maybe be a bit discerning about where you spend vacay money.
Hawaii has reached a sad situation of hosting an increased number of tourist every year now and all of the stress and destruction to our resources both natural and man-made while collecting less and less money per tourist, not good, so yeah stay away unless you intend to spend like a drunken sailor.
Hope it is found what exactly is causing these seemingly untimely deaths in the DR and they are able to get their act together overall, as Hawaii is also working on that.
what about their guest not having medical issues and dying the moment they leave their routine environment?. Americans tourist have become a liability for tourist areas, too fat, too sick.
I don't know. Killings seems to imply someone purposefully killed these people. I thought the cause of most of these deaths were either undetermined or natural causes. It just sounds like sensationalism and fear mongering to call them killings at this point. Regardless, it seems too soon to say that. Also, as AntonioR pointed out, United States tourists die every year in the Dominican Republic.
yeah, even when the FBI has found nothing and this random girl knows the truth?.
you should be ashamed of even recommending us to watch that. or you take us for fools?
what part of autopsies where done to the bodies you dont get? with personnel of the US embassy and nothing that points to a crime was found?
there is nothing misterius here, just the fact the Fox news insist in calling them as such and the fibble minded just follows.

I'm not keeping count, but a number of the deaths were 'heart attacks.' Your list has no natural deaths. More than a couple of healthy Americans have had heart attacks in the DR. It seems to be more than just a coincidence.

out of 2.5 million people i would call the number low.
