Poor Brazil. I hope Lula doesn't get elected.

The first round was in Oct 2, when people voted for federal deputy, state deputy, senator, state governor and president.

The second round is scheduled to happen in Oct 30, when people will have to choose between the two most voted candidates for president and the two most voted candidates for state governor (only if none made more than 50% of the votes in the first round).

The composition of the already elected deputies and senators is:

Senate: 53% Right - 30% Center - 17% Left
Chamber of deputies: 53% Right - 21% Center - 25% Left

It's gonna be a hard work for Lula, but nothing that money couldn't buy. A lot of them can be corrupted and then easily change from one side to another anyway.

Round 2 of elections are October 30.

I expect Simone's vote to roll to Lula.

I don't give a crap to this election. For the second time in a row, Brazil chooses the worst candidates to dispute the second round. Don't care who will win, Brazil will spend four more years with the same problems hindering the development.

Number one rule of democracy. Never vote for far right politicians. It always ends as a mess.

Do they both suck? From what I've read people seem to like Lula a lot more than Bolsonaro who's insane.

I agree with you, but if the numbers in post # 45 above are accurate.........we're both wrong.

Separately, is gerrymandering and/or corruption a problem with Brazilian elections?
