Hi again,

Unfortunately, the property manager for the house I was leaning towards apparently owns flying monkeys and melts when water is poured over her. (wondering how much is the pet deposit on flying monkeys?).

I had actually seen warnings about her on the internet when I googled their company entitled "BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE" followed by her name, and boy were they right. My comments will soon follow that fellows reviews. I hope he found someone nice to rent from after his bad experience with her. So there goes $100, as I would prefer to rent a tee pee from a nicer person for the same price.

So, I am in search of a nice landlord and a decent place now. I do like Eagle River and Chugiak, but may end up in Wasilla or Palmer. I will let you guys know what happens.

In the meantime, I will take your advice AADAD, and get the necessities list taken care of, though Chocolate would definately not rank last on my list!

Thanks again for all your input. I can't wait to get there!

Probably for the best. Flying monkeys can take you places you don't want to go !

Sorry the place fell through.

I certainly would never, ever want to commute from Palmer or Wasilla into Anchorage every day, especially in the winter. Those fog pockets, moose, ditch divers would get me. My husband hit a surprise bolting moose on that drive. That would be stress plus in my book. I found it tough enough to have to drive from Eagle River LOL!

I don't understand how you can't get to rent a house of driftwood bay in Eagle River. Tons of properties listed with for rental signs. I know there has been plenty of scam attempts on craigslist etc but if you talk to people on the phone and have a job up here then I simply don't get it.

I would go for a garage and most if not all of the properties there on driftwood (or in the area) have that

Concur with the Remax in Eagle River comment. Nice people

I would also expect that there would be less of an issue with an "out-of-state" person by going through a realtor. The realtor is used to it and the landlord has the realtor as a protective cushion.

Should help everyone
