My fiance and I are relocating from Los Angeles to Anchorage next month for work. I've only visited once and now I'm trying to find us a place (ideally a house) to rent!

We have this thing in SoCal called Westside Rentals. You pay a $60 fee for a 60-day online membership and you get access to exclusive listings. Because landlords have to pay to post, you get much better listings than Craigslist. Is there anything like this for Anchorage?

Any help would be very much appreciated!!

The demand is so high for rentals here I don't think landlords need to do that in Anchorage. Best of luck to you.

Hi, I've used Westside rentals, too

But what exactly do you mean by "better listings"? Higher-end rentals?

Then looking at Google Maps under "Real Estate", filter "Rent" I recently found to be the most helpful (perhaps, mostly because I need a very specific & small area, which is hard to filter out on Craigslist, other then entering names of individual streets). And, on Craigslist, you may turn on filter by price, and only look at best listings... if that's what you mean?

On the other side, if you plan to stay here several years, might really be worth it to consider buying :-) Rent is just as high as in LA, while purchase prices are more affordable

Find a realtor that specializes in rentals. My mom just rented out her house using a realtor. Generally there is no fee for the tenant.

Partners Real Estate in Eagle River is who is listing our house so we can move to Tampa next month. We also interviewed Roy Briley and Assoc who also has quite a few rentals. Both seemed really professional in how they handled their rentals.

I too am looking for a rental (in Tampa) and I've had a hard time getting a realtor who will help find a rental. You may have to make a go of it yourself in this climate. You'd think they'd want SOME kind of money, but nope.

We (my wife and I) have mixed feelings about Partner's Real Estate in Eagle River. You can direct message me with specifics. I'd go with Craigslist, as rentals are not most Real Estate agents' bread and butter. Unless your actually here, they are less likely to help. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on the internet doing your own research.
