If you choose not to drive up....I did transport mine through a moving company. It was about $3000. It also took about 2 1/2 weeks to get here. I had to make sure it was washed well when it arrived though. When are you planning on transporting it??? Maybe you could take the ferry part of the way.

my understanding is that the ferry isn't making direct trips to Anchorage or even Whittier this time of year. Am I wrong? I need to get a truck out of Juneau, and the cost to barge it from there has been quoted at $3,000.

I think you are correct about the ferry. It runs less, and doesn't make it to Whittier, but I think someone told me it made it to Haines, then you would have to drive the remainder. Keep in mind that you need to have a passport since you will be crossing into Canada for part of the drive.

I've been looking at the ferry route The website tells me there is no room for vehicles on the run to Whittier in January and I think also February. Ugh!
