I'm moving to AK at the end of August. I don't get instate tuition. I can't get on-campus housing. It's really pretty harsh.

I'm looking for inexpensive apartments near the UAA campus. I mean somewhere around $500 a month including electric. Do you know of any I should call? Alternatively, are there any newspapers I could read to help?

Thaaaanks. :]

adn.com is the local paper. Craigslist.com is also a good resource.

If you go to UA at Fairbanks, I think you can cheaply rent these dry cabins. It is quite an interesting living environment!

I would be surprised if you could find an apt for that much. On that budget you will probably need to look for a room rental or get in with a group of roommates. I'd say check out Craigslist but be careful about it. UAA apparently has some ways for people to connect about off-campus housing as well.

That cabin is about like my home, but I've got indoor plumbing, hallelujah The people who lived here before me splurged on a well and pump. I don't mind an outhouse, but it sure is nice to have a hot shower whenever I want it.

That all looks like a ton of fun.

For a visit, but I dunno about a lifestyle. I am a little too spoiled to creature comforts.
