My son will start a new job in June and would like to have some input about 2 bedroom rentals we saw ads for Discovery/Creekside/Foxwood Manor off C are they in a safe/good location? Town Square Manor has poor reviews....any good places near by or ideas for a new kid in town?

I lived in a 6 plex off Eide Street, behind the Holiday Gas Station on the Corner of Cst and 36th. It was honestly one of the worst locations I have ever lived in. A lot of drunk people live there and hang around (homeless). It's dirty, loud and there is a lot of police activity. We were there for 3 months and moved out as fast as we could. It's not a safe place for kids at all.
There are a lot of apartments in the area between Cst and Arctic Blvd around the 36th-32nd Blocks and I did not feel as though any of them were appropriate for my family.

Around that area is a lot of businesses too. I work at a building on 36th and C. I can't think of many great housing in that area.

I always thought the general Foxwood area looked pretty nice.

10-ish years ago I lived in an apartment near Juneau St and 46th. Not the best neighborhood but the building was safe...10 years ago anyway.

He's better off moving a few miles over into the Turnagain area. Somewhere by Northern Lights and Aero. Cheap rates, classy neighborhood, no drunks, great people, no beggars, and no crime. Watch out for the quakes though.

Foxwood is about 2.5 miles from 36th & C. The complex backs to Campbell Creek greenbelt and the bike path that runs for miles. Its very nice to be so close to the bike path. They are on the small size at about 750 sq ft for 2 bedrooms but come with 2 bathrooms. I've not heard of any issues with safety there although hadn't heard of any in the 36th & C street either.

We checked out Foxwood & we liked the area. When I used to live in south Anchorage I drove by twice a day and we sometimes walked up there on the trail system.

Seem like a nice neighborhood. It's great being near the Campbell Creek trail for bike riding, walking & skiing.

Continental Apts right around the corner. Not superior but livable, safe and clean.
