Looks like we're number one at something...

Winter Cities Institute CEO Patrick Coleman lists Anchorage, AK, among his favorite cold-weather towns. It’s no wonder; this Alaskan beauty knows how to chill.

Interesting they mentioned Arctic Valley skiing but not Alyeska, although we're happy to hear our little Arctic Valley was mentioned.

Reindeer skijoring? Hmmmmm

Ice fishing for salmon? Hmmmmmm

Got to love it!

Yeah...

It is clearly not summer where I live, but you can wear shorts and a T-shirt comfortably, still...

I thought that statement was quite strange. It tends to take away a lot of credibility from the writer. It makes me assume the author is sitting at a desk, having never set foot in Alaska.

We thought the same thing. And even tho they have the running of the reindeer at Fur Rondy, nobody skijors around Anchorage with reindeer that I know of. Correct me if I am wrong. I have skijored with Mr Dog but never Mr Reindeer.

I wasn't sure about the reindeer skijoring. I've never seen it myself. However, I figured there might be a chance that someone was offering this somewhere in the area and I just hadn't heard or read about it.

I'm not sure if skijoing with a reindeer would be thrilling or just plain idiotic. A full sized reindeer is a pretty big beast.

Any bets on when the first person post here, looking for winter ice fishing spots for salmon and reindeer skijoring?
