Hi Folks.

My husband, myself and two of my kids, 5 and 8 are visiting Anchorage tomorrow for 4 days/3nights. We arrive 8:30 am Alaska time. We arevreadyntk hit the ground running. Here are the places we going to see while we are there. My little one isnt quite up to hikes so that limits that option. I have two kids who are very interetsed in widlife and animals. Please let me know of anything else we should see. Thank you!

Alaska Zoo
Seward Aquarium
Whittier
Anchorage Museum
Alaska Wildlife Comservation Center
Eagle River Nature Center
Matanuska Glacier

Anything else? We don't have time to go see Denali National Park. My husband has to work a 1.5 days while we visit.

Thanks for the tips!

You might also look some on Trip Advisor. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum...49-Alaska.html
I always prefer the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center over the zoo, so if you have to pick go with the AWCC.
Have you thought about a boat trip. The Kenai Fjords out of Seward sees a lot of wildlife and some glaciers. The Prince William Sound cruises out of Whittier see a lot of glaciers and some wildlife.
If you are looking for something shorter & cheaper, there's the one hour Portage Glacier cruise. We did that last weekend: AKStafford: Portage Glacier Cruise
The Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage is also good.
If you are driving up to the Matanusaka Glacier, there's also the Musk Ox Farm and/or the Reindeer Farm in Palmer.
Crow Creek Mine in Girdwood is also fun.

Having been to most of the places you and AKStafford listed with our four boys, many several times, you can not go wrong with any of them.

Unless you are doing a boat cruse from Whittier or just want to go through the tunnel I would probably skip it as there is not much to do there.

You can combine a train ride and cruse via Whittier but that will take almost a full day.

The Mat-Sue Glacier is one of our favorites. If you have the time Independence mine is worth a look.

We also like the Alaska Aviation Museum.

Here are a few other suggestions for things to do in Anchorage.

This is a good site for things to do in and around Anchorage although just your list alone could eat up most of your 4 days.

If you get a hankering for pizza while you're in Anchorage, you've got to try Moose's Tooth! Problem is -- if you don't go super early (like 4pm-ish), it's completely bonkers.

Hope you're having a nice visit!

Thanks Hockey Girl. We have already been to the Moose's Tooth. Delicious! Planning on going back Tuesday. We went to the aquarium, portage glacier, Whittier and tunnel and wildlife conservation center today. Yesterday, we hiked at the Eagle River Nature Center, went to the Iditarod start and rode a sleigh with some dogs, and the zoo. Tomorrow, all the museums. Also, going to the the Glacier Brewhouse.....?

The Brewhouse is good. If you know what time you'll be there, reservations are a good idea.
