No offense to anyone, but I don't care for the city. I'm coming from LA, and everything there is sleek, modern, and very attractive. The buildings in Anchorage look like they're from the 70s. The roads are terrible! Lol, maybe LA spoiled me. I want to like Anchorage

And we're supposed to care what a California refugee thinks because?

I don't care much for Anchorage either, but I don't expect it to be like CA.

ETA the city is pretty visually unappealing and utilitarian. Most of it was rebuilt after the big earthquake in the 60s. Pretty sure no on goes there because of the cityscape.

So southern Alaska isn't much like southern California? Weird. I'd of thought they were pretty much interchangeable...

Reminds me of that time I went from Minnesota to Miami and was annoyed - lots of palm trees, no snow, hard to find good lefse. I mean, what the heck?!

Maybe it would help you to know that some Alaskans refer to Anchorage as LOS ANCHORAGE in "honor" of LA.

LA, California? I work in LA. Everything there is not sleek modern and attractive. LAX is an embarrassment. The freeways are atrocious.

Anchorage looks less urban. But losing the LA attitude would help.

Welcome to the crowd. However, I bet it'll be safe to bet, you won't stick around Alaska very long.

I think the OP is just here on a visit. He was asking about Chena Hot Springs awhile back.

I don't care for LA or Anchorage. That's why I live in Alaska.

We adopted Soviet architecture. Your next excursion should be to Norilsk, Russia for a comparison.
