My husband has a job opportunity with Lake Clark NP. If this opportunity comes through, he will be employed every year (this is a permanent/seasonal job) from March - October. We are looking to possibly buy a travel trailer to live in for those months, and then store it in the winter while we live in Michigan from late October - March. Is there any campground or areas of land we could rent long term (for those 8 months)? We have not been to AK, and are unfamiliar with the area. Buying a house or condo is a possibility in the future, but we are leaning toward the mobility of a travel trailer, most likely approx 35 - 40 ft.

Thanks in advance for your feedback and suggestions.

Isn't lake Clark off the road? Near illiama? Port Allsworth?
If so, I'd think housing would be included. Or they'd have bunk houses.

Is he going to be working in Lake Clark or for the park service in Anchorage? To get an RV to Lake Clark will involve a barge. Once you get it there, that's where it is likely to stay.

I'm guessing maybe housing will be provided for the husband, but not the family?
So are you looking for a place to park the trailer and the family lives in that? Or a place to store the trailer in the winter? Many of the storage places have RV storage. And most of the RV parks do long term rentals.
Do you want to be in Anchorage? Or would you consider something like this: https://www.alaskarvpark.net/

Storage: http://www.yourrvconcierge.com/

Thank you for the links, this is helpful. Looking for both, RV park and storage during winter. Job would be located in downtown Anchorage.

Thanks

Golden Nugget is the only RV park I'd recommend at this time. Safe and secure for the most part.
