Is it opportuned or optimally? I thought it meant optimally positioned?

With such a busy airport, you think Anchorage be bigger. I am told that DFW big airport is a big contributing factor to DFW's size. If our ice caps do melt, I guess their seaport also get pretty busy as a way station for East Asia to Europe sea traffic.

With startup Northern Pacific Airways designating Anchorage as a stopover hub between the Lower 48 and East Asia, perhaps this could make Anchorage into more of a destination. They’re taking a page out of Icelandair’s book, which uses Reykjavik’s Keflavik Airport as a hub for flights between North America and Europe and offering passengers an opportunity to stopover in Iceland for several days while making their transatlantic journey.

Orgasmically positioned?

That said, both Anchorage and Fairbanks are positioned for travel/cargo destinations to the East and Europe. Also, both quite good for traveling to the Pacific regions, including Hawaii. It is cheaper to fly to Hawaii from Fairbanks than from Fairbanks to Spokane, WA.
