Will there be snow in Anchorage, Wasilla, and Hatchers Pass around mid-December or is it too early?

Thanks in advance!

It's Alaska, there's snow there now. Look in the Recent Ak photos, there's shots of Hatcher Pass in it.

I would hope so, having my floats taken off the plane there and skis put back on. If Lake Hood freezes over, I can get out of there on the ice with that I guess....but the ice is rough. The ski strip was all gravel when I last was there.... not very conducive to skis either...

It started snowing up here well over a month ago. You can see for yourself:

Maybe they fell though and are hard to see....

I figure that in a few weeks or sooner, it will be fine for leaving anyway. We have snow here in the interior and the ski strips have a good snow base on them now.

I went to the strip at North Pole, there's a few planes on skis there and a lot of snow in the area.

Nenana has a good snow base and the ski strip there is grass, so a little bit of snow does well. There is about a foot of snow in stages all total though. Don't know what the lake is like out by my cabin, but I figure it is useable. The Tanana and Nenana Rivers are frozen over now and can be crossed...but the trails for the snowmachines are pretty rough...

Last year on November 10th I went canoeing in Rabbit Slough. I went down there 2 days ago and there is over 1 foot of ice. Winter is early this year. There will be snow.
