For national carriers, AT&T is the only one up here. The other national carriers link to the regional carrier systems.

At&t and t mobile works up in Alaska. Pre Pay terms good value too if one uses computer more than cellular phone calls.

I was just up there in the middle of March and my Verizon phone worked flawlessly around Anchorage and the valley.

I moved up there with Sprint service, and it was useless. Not sure about now.

Note this: Whatever provider you have may work just fine up here. I have Tmobile from the lower 48 but my phone works perfect here and I don't get charged roaming and my rates are far better than anything you can find here for the quality. I am keeping my tmobile. The local providers here are too expensive and AT&T would be the better option if your phone doesn't work here or you can quickly get Tmobile before you come. Good luck!
