How long does it take during the winter with snow and how is the road condition?
We're looking at commutes to Mid-Town and the Providence Medical Center.

Thank you!

On a perfect sunny day, with no traffic, you are looking at about a 20 to 25 minute drive from Eagle River to the Dimond Center. Maybe 15 to 20 minutes to reach the Providence Medical Center from Eagle River.

In the winter your drive will vary upon the conditions. In heavy winter traffic (barring any accidents that may have occurred on your route) add another 10 to 15 minutes to the estimated times above. Accidents have occurred that have shut down the Glenn Highway for hours at a time, but those are pretty rare between Eagle River and Anchorage. If traffic does come to a stand-still on the highway, you can always exit at Muldoon and drive the city streets to your destination.

Peak rush hour traffic is from 7:00AM to 8:00AM coming into Anchorage, and from 5:00PM to 6:00PM heading into Eagle River from Anchorage. If you can leave before or after those times, it will help.
