I had to move up here because of my dad's failing health. I'm a marketing professional with proven success and yet I have not been able to find a job. I had to settle for an hourly wage summer position. My savings has been eaten up and now I don't have enough money to leave the state. My dad recently passed but there is no "will" or any financial windfall.

City of Delta Junction ~ Home Page
Not a huge job market here but there are so many unmet needs in this town. There are plenty of small family run restaurants, gas stations/convenience stores, liquor stores, specialty shops, a couple of auto parts stores and hardware stores and motels, but there is one grocery store in town. For those with Ft. Greely base access they can shop in the px or commissary. Dry goods are in limited supply and are very expensive compared to Fairbanks prices, things like diapers, ibuprofen, stuff you'd pick up at a Wal-Mart. Also, last I heard the local furnace repairman was wanting to retire but the only other place for that was in Fairbanks, 100 miles away. You just have to identify what is lacking that wouldn't be a luxury item. If I had more resources I would look there.
