Hi!

I currently live in Texas, looking to relocate in the Tucson, Sierra Vista, Fort Huachuca area. I've worked in IT for over 20 years, mostly as analyst, project management, manager, etc. Any recommendations how to look for a position in that area? Searches turn up positions looking for individuals who already have a clearance, I did have a secret clearance, but it was deactivated in 1994. Not sure what the job search procedures are like in that area, e.g., is there a specific job board employers look at? Do they go thru recruiters?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. D

You need to network with people in the IT field who are already located in Tucson.

NCI, General Dynamics, and STG all have positions here....just google them and look at their jobs. I would recommend getting CompTIA Security + certification. They will do the security clearance for you once you are offered a position.

Interesting! I'm retiring from 30 years in the federal government soon, and will be moving to Tucson and want to continue working. So Raytheon doesn't own the whole market, then? I've got a security clearance and a CISSP certification, but am not exactly sure what to expect there, or where to throw out the feelers.
