What are you looking for?
Info on Chrysler buying the Ford proving grounds or the new pipe plant going in out there or the rest area at mp 21? The round house?
Can not read your mind we need details to assist you.

Also you posted this in the Golden Valley post should have had its own topic for more coverage.

Yucca is about 28 miles so. so. w of kingman. It's wide open space.

Yucca's about 20 miles so. of the Griffith Industrial Park, not much at the park yet, a prison with about 300 emploees, 1,500 prisoners, thats doubling in size to 3,000 prisoners, an energy plant thats expanding, Wal Mart bought 145 ac property at Griffith off ramp. WM's suppose to build 1,000,000 sq ft warehouse, provideing 500 jobs; can't say when. Mohave Block is suppose to build there. Oh, a pipe company is being built in Yucca, there suppose to hire 75 people. There are people who go out to the Francia area to hunt for meteroits.

There is an area were there are 40 ac parcels that run from about $45,000.00 up to around $200,000.00. They are locate 1 to 20 miles off I 40, the further out they are the cheaper they are.

Ford proving grounds is right off I 40, Chrysler was to buy it.

I think thats about all I can think of. If you have anymore question ask I'll try and ans. I hope this was helpful.

I'm still considering Golden Valley and Kingman, but I have a question. Lately I've been seeing a lot of realtors promoting Golden Valley and Kingman as a great place for quading. I guess that is what we here in the south call "4-wheeling" or ATVs. Here they ride them in their yards and they don't care how close they are to the neighbor's house, instead of taking them to trails that are made for riding. It sounds like a racetrack around here for hours every day, and often at night too. If they find out the neighbor doesn't like the noise, they'll ride them right on the property line, to harrass the neighbor.

I'm all for riding ATVs in areas where they don't disrupt other people's peace and quiet (I may even get one myself), but not in neighborhoods. I can't afford a home in a nice subdivision with HOA rules, so I'll probably be in one of the mobile homes out there (not a mobile home park, but on my own land). Do any of you who live there know if there is a lot of quad riding going on in the rural neighborhoods in Golden Valley and Kingman, or are people more considerate of their neighbors and take them to the trails instead? Where I live they don't know the meaning of "considerate", even if you ask nicely. Since one of my main reasons for moving to a rural part of Arizona instead of a larger city is for peace and quiet, this is a big concern to me.

It's a good question, and a legitimate concern. I live in a HOA neighborhood, but of course it's bordered by wide-open desert. So occasionally I hear ATVs and dirt bikes playing out there, and it does get a bit annoying. Of course, since they're not on my property, I can't say anything. There were a couple of yahoos with quads racing through our neighborhood and even popping wheelies down the street when we first moved in. They probably felt my glare as they went by, because I haven't seen them lately. Good thing, because I was getting ready to video tape them and turn it over to the police.

No town is going to be immune to inconsiderate people. There was case recently out here where a desert dweller got pissed off about the ATVs and ended up firing a rifle over the head of two of them, which turned out to be a father and young daughter. That guy got prosecuted, and rightly so, but we can understand his frustration.

We had a new neighborhood park built last year, with a great big grassy play area. It was big enough to play soccer on. As soon as the grass came in, some yahoos on ATVs did donuts out there and chewed up huge tracks in it. Pure vandalism. It's a good thing I didn't see them do it, because I would have personally crucified them.

I think the thing that probably works in our favor out here is the vast expansiveness of the area, which gives the off-roaders lots of area to play. So they don't get concentrated in any one area. But as I say, no place is immune to inconsiderate people. About all you can do is put up a fence.

Thanks, kdog. I hate to hear that it's a bit of a problem there too. I hope I'm not going from one bad situation to another. I'm about at my wit's end with the constant sound of engines, even with my fence up. Hopefully it's not quite as bad there as it is here. I'm looking at town in New Mexico too, but I still have my heart set on AZ as my first choice.

Default Golden Valley

I don't get it........I live here and don't see any of those problems! Hmmm..........really, I should get out more!!!! Weird things happening? Like what? Where is everybody? I don't get weird things going on over here off of Egar! It's quiet over here! I have lovely, very friendly neighbors. Okay, okay, the lady behind us was a bit odd.......does that count as something weird going on? She had tons of dogs and she would stand on her roof to call them........there! That's weird, isn't it? And drugs? Well, aren't they everywhere? Just say NO! And appliances missing from the home? Our home was put in with everything in it! I guess we were the lucky ones! Gosh, are we talking about Golden Valley? Maybe I'm on the wrong thread?.............
