The problem isn't wells, it's depth, 4,000 ft plus, a million to drill a well.

Water haul you need to really conserve. Collecting rain - we get like four inches a year in AZ. LOL. Reusing grey water is good, but you need a settling pond, filter, can't water flowers with soapy water.

Look into the "earthships" in Taos, they biofilter, seems interesting. Probably not legal here.

One reason we may relocate is the water issue.

We just moved to Golden Valley, Arizona and are looking for a water station to fill our 500 tank. I've heard there was a selve selver water station where you can put quarters in and get water. Does anyone know where this is ? Appreciate the help.

You certainly would not want to do that with your 500 gallon tank....those stations are for 1 and 5 gallon containers.
Start here: Golden Valley Water

no need to filter water in Ash Fork . it is ready to drink from tap . for coffee and juices i buy filtered water at .25c a gallon . do that as it filters out some additives the city puts in . i had a 5000 gallon tank to hold my water . in 23 years it only froze one time and it was not froze solid . just about 6 inches on top .
