Does anyone know where the Governor of AZ lives? Is there a Gov. mansion like in other states? If so, do they decorate it for Christmas? I never hear anything about touring the Gov. mansion or even where it is.

Arizona governors live in their own privates residences and the state does not have a Governor's Mansion....the state did try to establish one in Clearwater Hills, an area of NE Phx, in the 1970s (I think), but governors were uninterested in it....I don't know if there's a housing allowance for the governor....Jan Brewer lives in the Glendale area

You can visit the Territorial Governor Mansion Museum in Prescott. That's the only one. As previously stated no current Governor's Mansion exists today.

There was a little talk about buying Barry Goldwater's house when it went up for sale over a decade ago to turn into the governor's mansion. Don't think we need one, it's a waste of taxpayer's money.

Agree. I wonder how many of the fifty states actually have an official residence for the governor (whether they call it a "mansion" or not).

When I lived in Idaho the richest man in the state donated his house to the people of Idaho to be used as the governor's mansion. Nothing but a big mess, it nickel and dimed the taxpayers and the worst part is none of the governor's wanted to live there. So the house sat empty most of the year.

It seems like about 40 states have a Governor's Mansion, so AZ is in the minority.
