Arizona gained more than 230,000 residents in the past three years, again making it one of the faster-growing states in the nation, according to new Census Bureau estimates.
The Census report released Thursday estimated that the state’s population grew by 234,609 people from the 2010 census to July 1, 2013, climbing above 6.6 million people

Looks like AZ is getting its mojo back, soon it will be the number 1 growth state again

And I don't see why not. On the IT side, there are a lot of mid to high level jobs available. Entry level is not what this state is about.

I'm sure that the brutal winter in other parts of the country had a lot to do with people's decision to move to warmer climates. In the north east in particular, not only was the winter brutal but cost of living is very high and only keeps climbing.
Around the area where I live, as well as in other parts of the valley, I see a lot of construction taking place. New apartment complexes are popping up everywhere. I hope that more jobs come into the valley, as well.

Growth is always good news for AZ ... however, it has come to the point where we need to focus on what KIND of growth is needed, instead of just adding to the population numbers. For many years, the state has focused too much on growth based on migration due to either the climate or retirement (or both). We need to focus on luring in more entrepreneurs, and those who are highly educated, and/or highly skilled. Along with that need to come the higher paying jobs that keep the state competitive with the rest of the nation. Service level jobs are always needed, but they shouldn't be vastly outnumbering the jobs that require experience, skills, and education.

Also, no matter what kind of growth we get, our current population numbers (and projected population figures) put Arizona as one of the larger populated states ... and if we keep growing rapidly, we will be on par with California, Florida, and other states with a high population. With that comes the demand for amenities like more transportation, etc., and that will require more money. We don't need to head down the same path as California with all their outrageous taxes, ridiculous laws, and high cost of living. If we must copy any state, it should be Texas, which is very pro business with lots of competitive corporate jobs ... yet taxes & cost of living are still very reasonable compared to other large states.
