Can anyone tell me the approximate cost of utilities in Kingman? I know it depends on size of house, but just a ballpark figure would be helpful.

Is there a water, sewer bill? Is garbage separate or included? What's electric bill monthly?

We're planning to visit next month and look at some houses but I think we're considering renting a house for a few months until we get acclimated.

We're retired (73/67) and looking for a quiet, slow paced small town. We've been through Kingman years ago when we were traveling in our fifth-wheel. We actually stayed at new RV park in Casa Grande that was just getting built. What a gorgeous sunset the night we stayed there

Anyway, we're looking forward to our visit next month

we have a single story no kids small house and our electric bill runs somewhere close to 100 a month,
Some areas are on sewer and some are septic only. So the Kingman bill includes trash, water and sewer etc. but if you are on septic they don't charge for sewer and its somewhere close to 50 a month.
Also some areas have Unisource gas and its no bad at all here for us.

Thanks, rambrush...I was hoping you'd see my post

That just gives me an idea of what's in store for us.

In comparison, our electric averages $88/mo.; our trash averages $35/mo. (it's a separate utility); our sewer is $45/mo. (we have well water so no water bill); and our gas averages $120/mo (this is what we heat with and cook with). I didn't include cost of TV which is cable and runs about $180/mo.

All that runs about $500/mo. Would be spending any where near that there???

I have family in AZ, but I live on a forested mountain in Oregon. I have DirecTV Satellite for the TV. It costs $90 per month. So maybe you can save some money on the TV aspect, in Arizona.

We had Directv for years when we lived in CA and in our fifth-wheel and when we lived in TX. Unfortunately, we could not get it when we moved here to PA so we had Dishtv. It was terrible. We had nothing but problems with it. We dumped them and went with local cable company and it is so much better than Dish. I'm looking forward to having Directv back.

Yes we do get Direct Tv but again its pricey for the basic package.
Also we have had great success with internet from these folks.

The local phone company's internet sucked for speed and reliability, also there is suddenlink which we have not used. Heard its pretty quick if you get into a area with there service.

The $180 we pay includes 200+ channels, 2 recorders (PVR), whole house wi-fi, internet (15/3 Mbs), and phone (landline).

Thanks, jamies. I'm figuring at least $100/mo. average bill. We pay $88/mo. average here in NW PA with no central air (we don't need it), so the difference we'll pay in a higher electric bill we'll save on a gas bill. Our gas bill averages $120/mo here. Our sewer bill averages $45/mo. and trash is $35/mo. average. We don't have a water bill because we have a well.

So, that averages out around $225/mo. there for electric, gas, w/s/g as opposed to us paying $280/mo. for the same utilities....this does not include tv.
