I don't get all the hate some people have for Tesla, it's an incredible company, with an incredible history and product.

The dealership law is disgusting.

^^^ Exactly right. That was my point about the Arizona legislature passing this latest law, which does not serve the public.

Tesla can sell there cars here, they just have to comply with the law. And it's not a "new" law - it's been on the books for years.
There was no "new law banning Tesla", there was a new law that would have given Tesla special treatment (that failed).

Ahhh, thanks for clarifying that. Most of the auto dealer protection laws on the books do go back many years, and may have some worthwhile features, such as preventing a company like General Motors from competing directly against its own francisees, or favoring one over another. But in this case, clearly, Tesla would not be taking advantage of an existing franchisee, because there are none.

Now I get it. I had assumed the OP was correct about this, but clearly he wasn't. I see this was intended to create an exception for the much smaller sales anticipated for Tesla, but the dealers wouldn't support it.

For anyone who is interested, this is an interesting thread about Texas drivers buying Teslas without having any "stores" in Texas.

I'm going to remember this "never" - Tesla is doing well. Never say never when it comes to technology.

Exactly. Who would sit around and watch television when there's radio and movie theaters?

The Tesla Roadster is fairly rare and is no longer made (for now). When most people speak about Teslas, they are referring to the current model, the Tesla Model S, pictured below. The $94k price tag you mentioned is for the top of the line Model S. The Roadster exceeded $100k.

I spotted my first model S in the wild a few days ago at the wal-mart in cave creek (wth, there was *also* a rolls royce there!)..

Amazing that Wal-mart just announced their part-timers weren't going to get health insurance anymore, and the feebs are making those same part-timers subsidize a toy like that for the 1%.

I see at least one almost daily. It's amazing how many people pulled the trigger on them.

If you visit the San Francisco Bay area, you will see that Teslas have already caught on; they are everywhere.
