On rocks or heated metals heated naturally in the sun?

Or is that myth?

I would think you can't literally cook eggs or cook burgers without oven or can you.

But what about carrots or foods that require lower cooking temperatures? If left out all day in 110 degrees?

Didn't you see Vegas Vacation? I am sure there are ways to cook some food items in the hot sun here in the summer, but why would you? I know a lot of people that make sun tea, does that qualify?

Just one question, EricTheBean . . .

WHY would anyone want and/or need to "cook on a rock" since the arrival of Microwave Ovens?

! ! ! ! ! !

"Solar oven", option #2:

Buy a black car, with black leather seats & a black leather steering wheel,

Park it outside in July,

Wear shorts.

Skin-grafts & contributions to your "swear jar" may be required.

Yes, in Mohave County, 120+ in summer, our idea of fast food is catching a sidewinder out in the sun, pre-cooked dinner!

Goes with the annual 4th of July sidewalk egg cooking contest in Oatman.

While one can build their own solar oven as mentioned, we bought the "All American Solar Oven" a few years ago and it works great. It boils, roasts, we make soups in it, etc. and the food that's cooked is very moist and tender. If you're looking to keep the inside of your home cooler in the summer without turning on the oven or stove to fight with the A/C, it's a great option. We use ours year round.

Here you go - they actually tried it right here in Phoenix and it made the paper on a slow day...
