I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a water company that supplies the 1/4 acres lots just on the north side of I40 off sun valley road, I was just out to the area around Thanksgiving time and I couldn't see any storage tanks on any of the lots where people were living also can you give me a good idea what the average price these quarter acre lots should sell for. I see that the county is selling them on an tax auction and bids are hovering around 400 to 500 for each available lot, but the auction still has a few days left. any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming you're looking at these?

Public Surplus: Browse in Land

You should know that these auctions (and in some cases "over the counter" land sales) are held every year - and the properties that make it to the "over the counter" stage are the leftovers.. the starting bids are often higher than the actual retail value of the land. Much like the "$1 houses" in Detroit, this land is cheap for a reason. Don't rush into a purchase without all the facts, just because the auction is "ending".. Many counties have "over the counter" land sales all year long.. Anyone can walk in / anytime / & walk out with a deed to a little slice of nowhere-ville.

Default public surplus

I was asking about a water company that supplies water to sun valley 1/4 acre lots, I already know about buying land directly from county.

Desertbody, did you end up bidding on any of the lots?

I don't know enough about utilities in the area, to worry about bidding on the land, the prices seemed decent for what was being offered.

1/4 acre is a small piece of land IMHO. Or can you buy a bunch to get a few acres.
