Arizona's most common word in dating profiles is... "Hike"

Not bad, I will take it. Not nearly as bad as "oil" and "Casino"

Hey, at least we are athletic

I find this very interesting ... and somewhat inexplicable. I would imagine that in most of these states, the word appears because the person writing the profile uses it to describe things they like to do or things they would like to do with date. So hike makes a lot of sense for Arizona. Museum makes sense for New York, casino makes sense for Nevada. Disney has lots of reasons to pop up in a Florida profile; the person could work there, like Disney things, want to go a Disney property as a date.

One of the choices that fascinates me most is hunting. In FIVE states, it's the most common thing people like to do?! More men like to hunt than watch football or drink or golf, or other things guys do? Do people think hunting is something one would do on a date? Do women put it on their profiles? Maybe as in "I don't want to date a guy who is obsessed with hunting." I also find it odd that the oil would be so popular. In what way is the word oil used in a dating profile? I hope it appears as "I work in the oil industry" and not "I like a lot of oil on my salads" or "I like to oil up my dates before we go to bed." Maybe TX, OK, and ND women write, "I want to date an oil millionaire."

Two other ones that strike me as odd are Pennsylvania's amusement and California's desert. CA is a big state. Surely everyone in it isn't looking to take their date on a trip to the desert. To do what? A woman in San Francisco wants a date to take her to "the desert"? Weird. Maybe they think they're saying "dessert," as in "Let's meet for coffee and dessert." As for amusement, how is that used in a Pennsylvania sentence? Are they talking about amusement parks? That's a PA person's idea of a date? I can see that Florida is known for its amusement parks but PA? Maybe people write, "Don't contact me if ___ is your idea of amusement."

How could it not be "hot?"

I mean, there are a lot of attractive people here. No talking about the weather.

I am surprised CT's isn't "pay taxes" or "move"

Weird that CA is desert considering it's only the southern part which has desert

When I was doing OLD I found hiking to be all over the place. If a woman went one time on a non-paved trail she called herself a hiker. Had to weed through a bunch of women who claimed to be hikers before I finally found one to actually take out on a trail. Most of my hiking pictures scared women off and I finally had to put a disclaimer on them that I promised never to take them to the spot in my pictures.

LOL, I met a guy like that... we walked at a nearby park with pea gravel paths on flat, only flat, ground. Every time I've spoken to him since then he says we should "go hiking again". Dude, that was not a hike; it was a walk in the park! Literally. How can someone who has lived here all their lives call that a hike?
