I do have somewhat personal experience with the medical end of it. My husband has degenerative disc disease. He has had 3 major surgeries, which helped for a little while but ended up causing different issues due to scar tissue, but that's another story.

He had seen a pain specialist for about 5 years doing different types of nerve blocks etc on top of using strong drugs for pain such as hydrocordone etc. It had gotten to the point where the drugs weren't helping either and he is was in constant pain. So it was time to try something different.

He was very easily able to get his medical marijuana card and set out to find the best type and usage to help him. He tried the eatables, the candy and finally decided just smoking a good old joint was the most effective. He no longer sees the pain doc and simply smokes every night prior to going to bed. The instant relief he gets is amazing and it lasts long enough for him to work a normal day, which for him is a 12 hour shift.

It does come with side effects. He really gets the munchies! And he is totally hilarious to watch a movie with after he has smoked. Giggles like a little girl. However, he makes sure he has a good 12 hours before he has to drive or anything like that, so he is what I call my safe pot head.

We've suggested to a few other people to get their medical cards and they have all had the same type of experience.

Do I think it should be legalized for everyone? Not really because I don't think people will be smart about it. But I do think it could make for a great tax revenue

My only experience with MJ has always wafted in as second-hand smoke, and that's as far as I care to take it.

Oh.. well that's a great reason to keep possession of it a felony crime here then.

perhaps, we should make possession of beef-liver a felony too, since I find the smell of that being cooked offensive as well?

Only if the state can tax what comes across the border, I might consider it

Tax it and regulate it like anything else. It is a waste of tax dollars to be hunting down someone for casually smoking a joint when we can be making at least some cash off of it. I'd rather have the 53 million for our state than not. You can bet all of the snowbirds that come here to vacation will be partaking!

I'm curious if the law enforcement agencies have a financial reason to keep MJ illegal? After all, don't people who get busted have to pay big fines? I have no idea- anyone care to add to this question?
