Thank you again. I am going to try to catch a VRBO rental for Phoenix/Scottsdale and Tucson (perhaps a hotel here.) Are there any specific locations/neighborhoods you would recommend for us - and any specific areas we should try to avoid? Thank you!

Do you have to buy tickets in advance for spring training games?

No, but some games (Cubs) sell out, so it can be a good idea. Your post probably should be in its own thread.

This is just a suggestion. While in the Sedona area check out Boynton Canyon.

Coconino National Forest - Palatki Heritage Site

You need a reservation these days.

If I was taking a three weeker to AZ, I'd do things a bit differently. The week in Sedona is perfect. Hiking around the area, rent a mountain bike, Pink Jeep, yada yada, you'll have a blast.
A few days in Prescott is fine too, as there are more places to check out up there.
However, I'd skit the Phoenix/Tucson end of it. But that's just me. I'd head up to the Grand Canyon for a couple days, then keep heading to the northernmost part of the state and stay in Page AZ. You are within a day trip of Monument Valley, Lake Powell is beautiful for some fishing and maybe renting a boat if the weather is warmer, and Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend are minutes away, "The Wave" is an amazing place to visit, etc.
As for Tucson, I loved seeing Tombstone, San Xavier, and Suguaro Nat'l monument. I am not a Phoenix fan at all. Check out my albums. I have lots of pics of the aforementioned areas. They are truly beautiful.

Tried to rep you, but I gave you too many already! GREAT post! I will bookmark that for future visits from friends!

Also, to the OP, someone in the Flagstaff forum posted a question about being at high altitudes and got some wonderful suggestions and ideas about spending time in AZ. Here's the link https://www.city-data.com/forum/flags...elevation.html

I would highly suggest that when you go to the Phoenix area you actually stay in Scottsdale rather than Phoenix. Scottsdale has great resorts and march SHOULD(not always) have some perfect swimming temps for you.
