I'm looking at homes in the San tan valley and I'm looking to move there by the end of this year. The homes are really affordable and I really like them but I was wondering why are there so many homes going up for sale in the area? It seems to have malls and an airport near by as well as restaurants and it isn't more than 20-30minutes from Gilbert and Chandler area so why so many homes for sale?

There is a lot more "out here" than there was when I moved here in 2004, but you are still far away from so much of the Valley. When I moved here I was a telecommuter; now having lost that job, I have a commute that takes 15-20 minutes just to get up to the 60. I knew it was a possibility and decided to take a chance; fortunately, the remote gig lasted almost 11 years and I loved every minute of it.
I still like San Tan Valley, and my house; it's just the first thing that comes to mind--my mind, anyway--is the commute. Whether going up to the 60, down to the Highway or driving surface streets through San Tan, Queen Creek, etc., you are in for a drive.

The reason is the same as any other - location, location, location. The Mesa airport isn't a main airport - most people need Sky Harbor to go to most cities. San Tan Valley, for the most part, is far removed and takes a long time to get to freeway access as mentioned above. They have the main things people need - grocery stores, chain restaurants, chain stores - but if you need regular access to the Phoenix area, it's quite a drive. That being said, if you don't need to commute anywhere, you can get a lot of house for the money.
