Just took a high tech job in St. Johns and don't know the area that well. Help out a mid 20's SWM with questions!

How's the dating scene? Good bars and clubs to recommend or avoid?
Best neighborhoods? Looking for a decent apartment with a pool and hopefully exercise facilities but would rather live on the ground floor.
How is the street racing scene? My riced out Honda will be looking for some action. Are the LEOs down with a little fun?
Are there scorpions? I hate bugs. Is there grass? I love nice green lawns but hear AZ is mostly cactus and sand dunes.

I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you, but you're probably going to be disappointed in St. John's. Its a very small town with only about 3000 people. If you blink, you will miss it. It is also in the middle of nowhere where the nearest town is many, many miles away.
The LDS folks only get down with a little fun with other LDS folks. They are very nice but they keep within themselves.
I think there are only 2 apartment places that you can pick from... here is a link

Yep I agree not much to do in St. Johns. Be many a trip south to Springerville and also Gallup NM for supplies.

Either somebody cannot read that they took a job in St. Johns or they are proposing one hell of a commute

Think about it, Ken. "High Tech job in St. Johns"(????) by a long time poster (who lives in the Verde Valley)who should know very well what St. John's is like. Your leg is being pulled, too. Read the OP again with the idea that it's a joke in mind.
