I heard this on the radio and was puzzling over it:

News from The Associated Press

Why would a sheriff be proposing a hike in the sales tax for more staffing? Shouldn't that be part of the regular budget?

Sales tax increases are often targeted toward specific parts of a county's budget, here the MOHAVE County Sheriff's Office

Because we have a Mohave County government that is OUT OF CONTROL!

900 hours (six months) acrued vacation for county workers.

They JUST raised our property taxes. Now the sheriff dept wants MORE of our money.

This is the, or one of the POOREST counties in the COUNTRY!

I just paid nearly $4,000 in property taxes.

STOP STEALNG OUR MONEY!!!

Clearly it is time to kick some people out of office.

OK, I maybe shouldn't have said they were "stealing" our money. But there simply isn't any money left to pay them.

I don't make as much as any of the police. I don't get paid time off, or sick days. But yet I am expected to sacrifice and scrimp to pay for county employees.

And there is NO END to it. Last year Bullhead City tried to raise sales tax TWICE. This year Kingman has implemented a sale tax, I think, they are voting to increase city property taxes - the COUNTY increased everyone's property taxes, and NOW they want MORE!

Please don't tell me to make more money, don't you think I'm trying, but unfortunately Microsoft already has a CEO.

Please don't tell me to move - move where? It's the same thing everywhere - we have government at every level that is completely out of control with spending and public employee benefits and pensions. We are BROKE!
