Moved here in 1986. I did not realize it at the time but that was one of the best decisions I ever made. Arizona is OZ to me.

Funny...since my 17 yr old has been applying everywhere and can't even get a call back. If people were hurting for employees, you would think they would be trying to hire. Same goes for a few of his friends and some adults we know. Maybe they just don't want to hire kids?

I don't know how big your town is but it is a numbers game and the kids have to send out 50* resumes at the same time.
I know some that apply at 5 jobs and think nobody is hiring.

I understand they don't have experience but they just design a nice resume stating skills they do have, ie, fast learner, strong, can lift heavy, great social and sales skills.

Then mention some things they may have done in highschool. They won't check.
