I'll be starting online college courses through a community college, but I'm still looking for full time work. Am I still eligible to file my weekly unemployment? I'll be taking up a full time load, but I'm still available to work everyday. The most I saw on AZUI's website was that school attendance is an issue that can affect my eligibility and prevent me from receiving benefit payment.

Unfortunately, this is not the place to seek legal advice.

I hope you're disqualified from collecting unemployment. Taking a full college load regardless if it is online or not will cut into your ability to look for work. When collecting unemployment finding work should be your full time job. Your previous employer, the taxpayers, etc. should not be funding the time you're going to school.

I was a full time student while looking for work (I wasn't collecting unemployment though) and my school work got in the way of my looking for work. I couldn't find a job while I was going to school but as soon as I graduated I had a job within a month.

You're gonna have to make some phone calls, no way any of us could know the answer without information you can't post here

Thanks for the replies. I definitely don't want to file for any week in which I'm taking an online course if it's not something I should be doing. I'll give them a call to make sure!

Get some advice from the people who know and are in a position to advise you on this. A full time load, online, can't help but impact availability for work if offered, and the time you have to look for work. Less than full time, with good flexibility in when you actually are online, might be different.

Look at pages 15-16 here: http://morrisinstituteforjustice.org...ranceGuide.pdf

This is not a DES publication, but you can look up the regulations that are cited at the end of the discussion online. Read those.
