The legal community is against it too because they know the way to attract private prisons is to promise them a minimum occupancy rate. If the state is no longer able to lock people up for minor offenses such as possession, that'll cut deeply into the state's bottom line. Unfortunately, I think many of the so called freedom loving, get the government out of our lives "conservatives" will vote the proposition down because they want to regulate what others are doing in their spare time. Couple that will concerned parents who think pot is going to handed out like pencils at school, older people who just have their own old fashioned ways on how society is "supposed" to behave, and the people who essentially want completely unrestricted legalization with pot shops as concentrated as Circle Ks and you will likely find that the pro 205 side is outweighed by the anti side. Arizona is not Colorado. The demographics are different in a way that isn't conducive to legalization.
I am sure it will pass, and I think when it does, you can partially thank trump. (really not trying to start a political discussion here), but I think he will get more pro-pot people than ever to the polls so they can vote against trump.

There is absolutely no downside to legalizing cannabis. No overdoses, tax income, removes drug-dealer and cartel, creates jobs, and is healthy if used correctly. I vote YES.

I think Ill vote in favor of, but am a bit concerned about the idiots driving while using it. CO's accident rate spiked an astronomical 64% after legalization. Lets hope it doesn't do the same here. Im ONLY voting for it because my wife's neurological pain might benefit from marijuana use.

Where did you get that number? I tried confirming some of the info from one tv commercial and it was pretty much bs. Not saying it's not true, but the sources of data for the anti 205 groups seem a little suspect.

Yes, are you just going off that commercial? Or do you have any actual data to back this up, whether or not they were impaired, what types of accidents, what was the time frame (as in winter months when accidents go up every year)..

There are far too many variables to start quoting one incomplete bit of information if you are trying to keep it fair and honest.

Has anyone read the informational pamphlet on 205. It's wierd, many against it own smoke shops and are in the MJ business. They state this isn't true legalization and it will hurt their business. I am not sure I understand where they are coming from.

Voting for it is one thing, the opening of the stores another. How long?

Here in ultra-conservative, oligarchic Nevada, medical marijuana was voted in in the year 2000, and it only took 15 years to get a first dispensary open. But then, you've probably noticed, everything in Nevada, and in Sin-less City (), moves at a tortoise pace.

We're up for a vote for it in NV next month as well as CA, and I'll laugh my head off if it's voted down and approved in CA & AZ!

Yes, we have the same crowd urging a No Vote on Ballot 2, the Police Unions for one, and casino mogul Adelson, whose son-in-law now owns our local paper, the LV Review Journal.

We have plenty of dispensaries that have been open for years.

Probably from all the out-of-towners that are visiting CO to enjoy the weed but are unfamiliar with the roads

I am also in favor of legalization.
