Default Downtown Glendale...who knew?

Went to check out Glendale Glitters for the first time last night and was very pleasantly surprised. The streets were packed and there was just a good atmosphere all around. Went to Haus Murphys and had some excellent German food (second time here, first time around we were not impressed at all but this time everything was great).

I've been reading about Haus Murphy's. Not to keen on a German joint with an Anglo name but it looks good and has good reviews on Yelp. I have yet to visit downtown Glendale. Perhaps I'll partake later tonight or tomorrow. Wouldn't mind checking out the lights and eating German food and drinking German beer.

I believe the name comes because the original restaurant was located across from Murphy Park but moved a few years later and kept the name.

I heard that it, Haus Murphy, was named after William J (WJ) Murphy one of the original founders of the City of Glendale. The Murphy Park is dedicated to him also.

We've eaten there several time. Great food and great service. With large portions and the selection of beers is outstanding too. So many to choose from.
