A few recent (late October) shots of SE Arizona around Sonoita. As can clearly be seen, this very southernmost part of Arizona is NOT desert at all, but instead is rich, lush grassland. This is the general area where the 1950's musical "Oklahoma!" was filmed. It is very serene and beautiful where - like much of Arizona - you can see FOREVER.

Of the many photos I have of AZ this is one of my most favorite. At night when you are driving north from Arivaca and start down the hill off the flat area, into Amada, your headlights hit this object and even though you know it is there, for an instant it is startling to see this huge white steer skull out in the middle of nowhere.
