Who the hell wants to come to Phoenix during the KIDS vacation time in the middle of summer?

I think this is a terrible idea but what do I know.

Closing during the winter when kids are in school is one thing, closing for the summer when kids are on summer break is completely different.

If you're anywhere in the Southwest its a day trip, and unlike Disney, there's the rest of LA that you don't have to deal with. One of the perks of being out in almost the middle of nowhere.

Like I said, snow melts fast. Its probably already gone. And besides, all other amusement parks across the country have to deal with crappy weather, too. It would be no different.

Don't be a negative Nancy (sorry if I offended any Nancy). I've heard so many complaints about the metro not having a significant amusement park. Now that there is significant one proposed, why is there still complaining? BTW, our state needs more tourism during the summer.

There are also ways to diminish the effects of the heat at amusement parks. Misters, shade, lots of structures.

Use some imagination negative nancies this is a 4billion dollar project, not two guys and some bricks.

Like Legend City dealt with the heat in Tempe. The location makes sense and has been tried before. I think Pinal County is a perfect spot.

First, what would you think the ticket is going to be to enter?? Tickets to Disney are over $100 per person for a day. Then add on food, drinks, souvenirs, games, add-ons, and you're at $150-$200 per person for one day. Then this is a theme park, which means its probably designed to be more for families/kids. Two adults and two kids, were talking (EVEN IF, kids got free tickets which they don't), were at $300-$1,000 for the day for a family of four. Then lets get realistic about anyone who has that kind of money to blow on entertainment, IS GOING TO HAVE A VEHICLE. Between the hassle of taking and leaving with the kids after a long day, plus everything you may be bringing back with you, people are going to want the convenience and ease of there own vehicles. Single people don't go to the theme park to hang out, or because they want to go on a rollercoaster a few times for $100. You might, and you might not, have that kind of money to blow on a day of fun now that I've spelled out a little bit of what the costs are, but the average light rail user does not.

And just FYI, Castles & Coasters, is an arcade with a mini golf and a few carnival rides. Its for kids, and really lame people going on a first date. What you're suggesting is taking little sally's lemonade stand, and make a grocery store out of it.
