Surprised nobody else posted this yet:

Developers looking to build the 'next Disney World' in Casa Grande | Area News | pinalcentral.com

SO - as a CG resident who is VERY pro-growth and development I am hopeful this time will be different than the past.

I do not yet know a lot about the principals behind this - but I will be at the meeting to check them out.

This is just the very first step in a loooonnngg process - but I like some of the "adjunct" ideas in addition to the theme park - the Vet School, Movie Studio, Amtrak Station, etc.

We ll see!

An AZ theme park should be built in the Verde Valley or somewhere on the Colorado Plateau, like Williams or Flagstaff. Summers are just too hot in the low country

Well, if it's not a water park they're going to need a summer solution if they plan to build it in the hot regions, which CG is in. If they really are trying to be a true DisneyLand style park, they can't just be closed in summer.

Why? We have tons of visitors in the Winter months in the deserts...not sure if the financials would work out but it COULD work...I guess...at least it doesn't sound like it is all outdoors:

Amenities to be built include an indoor recreational facility, water parks, a wildlife animal exhibit, restaurants and an amusement park. Another portion of the project would be reserved for commercial and residential purposes as well as the future construction of a school.

I knew of this one. Williams is a good choice, May to September is perfect theme park weather, and they have enough flat land there to do it. Plus it's location is within a drive of Flagstaff, Prescott, Phoenix and is close enough to Las Vegas and the river cities to draw those people as well

Or maybe just go to Disneyland or World and come to AZ for the other things we offer. Let them do what they do best, and we can do what we do best.

Or maybe we could build a bridge over the Grand Canyon and have the world's longest bungee jump ride! Just think of the rollercoaster that could be built in the Grand Canyon!

Well here is the detailed plan:

http://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townn...0188cd.pdf.pdf

It is a long dry planning application document - but does include significant renderings etc. that outline their ideas - it isn't all "standard" amusement park fare.

They definitely have the "A" list team in place for the project - and say they have the financing.
